Classic Quizlet Live in teams mode is an engaging game you can use to study or to help students learn. Players work in teams to correctly match the terms and definitions from study sets.
You can also play Classic Live in individuals mode, where each individual plays against others.
If you identified yourself as a teacher when you signed up, you can start a game of Classic Live in teams mode, and subscribers to Quizlet Plus for teachers have access to additional features and customization options.
To start a game of Classic Live in teams mode
- Log in to your account.
- Go to the set.
- Select Live.
- Select Classic Live.
- Select Get Started.
- Select Random Teams.
- Choose which combination of prompts and answers you'd like players to see.

- Project your screen for your class to view.
- Ask players to go to quizlet.live, enter the join code, and enter their names.
Players can also scan the QR code to join if they're using the Quizlet mobile app. - Select Create game.
- Select Start game.
Players are assigned to teams in Classic Live. If possible, ask players to sit with their teammates.
Settings and options
- To play a game of Classic Live in teams mode, four or more people must play with a set that has at least six term–definition pairs. Each player will need a computer or mobile device.
- You can also play Classic Live without teams, where each individual plays against others.
You can only start a game of Classic Quizlet Live from the Quizlet website—not within the app. Players can join and play from mobile devices.
