Spaced Repetition helps you review flashcards based on how well you remember them. After reviewing each card, you rate your recall, and Quizlet uses your response to determine when to show the card again.
*Spaced repetition is currently only available on the Quizlet website.
Studying with spaced repetition
When you open Flashcards, you can choose Browse cards, Basic sorting, or Spaced repetition. For larger sets, spaced repetition may already be selected or turned on.
To study with spaced repetition:
- Open a flashcard set and select Flashcards.
- Flip the card to see the answer.
- Rate how well you remembered it:
- Repeat — You didn't remember it. The card returns within minutes.
- Hard — You remembered it with difficulty. The card returns soon.
- Okay — You remembered it. The card typically returns in about a day.
- Easy — You remembered it easily. The card typically returns in four or more days.
- Continue reviewing cards until no more are due.
Managing spaced repetition
To change your study method or pause spaced repetition:
- Open the flashcard set and select Flashcards.
- Open Options.
- Do one of the following:
- Select Study method to choose a different study method.
- Enter a number in New cards per day to change how many new cards you review each day.
You can return to spaced repetition from the Study method menu.
Tips
- Use the space bar to flip cards and the 1–4 number keys to rate your recall.
- Cards you haven't reviewed with spaced repetition before are marked New. When you finish your daily review, you can continue browsing the set normally in Flashcards.
- If you have cards to review, you may get a daily reminder at 10 a.m. local time. You can manage these reminders in your notification settings
