To make sure Quizlet is a suitable study environment for everyone, we have several safety-focused restrictions on accounts used by younger users.
If you're a teacher, you can share this handout with your students' parents to guide them as their children get started using Quizlet.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other data protection regulations, users under age 13 (or sometimes older, if required by local law) are required to link their Quizlet accounts to their parent's email address. When a younger user signs up, Quizlet sends a message to that email address to let you know that your child has created an account. That email also gives you information about the choices you and your child have to protect their privacy. We also ask you to confirm your child's account and give consent before unlocking additional features.
If you're having trouble confirming your child's account, make sure you're logged in to the email address your child gave when signing up. To see which email address the confirmation email was sent to, your child can log in and go to the Email Confirmation section in their Settings. The confirmation email can be sent again from this section.
If your child has forgotten their password, they can reset it.
Updating account information
Parents have the opportunity to review and update information on their child's account. This information can be accessed by logging in to your child's Quizlet account and going to their Settings. If you need to update the email address associated with your child's account, please contact us from the email address currently associated with their account.
Uploading a profile picture
Younger users are not allowed to upload their own profile pictures. Instead, they can choose one of the default images available to them.
Deleting an account
All users can delete their own accounts from their Settings. Parents of younger users can also contact us to request that we delete their child's account. To verify that the request is coming from the parent, we require that it be sent from the email address associated with the child's account.
