If a set includes terms that have multiple definitions or answers, you can change your grading settings to require one or all answers.
To change grading settings
- Log in to your account.
- Open a set.
- Select Learn or Test.
Learn and Test are available in Quizlet Plus and Quizlet Plus for teachers subscriptions. - Open the Options menu.
- Select +Show grading options.
- Check Require one answer only.
This will mark answers correct if they contain at least one of the correct options included in a definition.
Multiple correct answers in a definition must be separated by a comma, slash, or semicolon for single-answer grading to work.
Settings and options
- Single-answer grading is available for Learn and Test.
- Once you turn on single-answer grading for a set, that preference is also set for all other activities. To disable it, click Options and then uncheck Require one answer only.
- Quizlet Plus subscribers can turn on smart grading. Smart grading uses natural language processing to understand the meaning of your answers and gives you credit for understanding the concept, not the exact way it's worded.

- Select Start test.
Currently, you can only change your grading settings on the website and in the iOS app, and not in the Android app.
